ZnO films are multi-functional semiconductor materials which have applications on various scientific fields and known as transparent conducting oxide (TCO). In particular, physical properties of these films can be modified easily by doping with different elements. In this thesis, ZnO:Co films have been obtained to investigate and enhance the effect of Co transition metal doping on the properties of ZnO films. ZnO:Co films have been deposited onto glass substrates at 350 ± 5 C using Ultrasonic Chemical Spay Pyrolysis technique. The effect of Co doping on the structural, optical, surface and electrical properties of deposited films has been investigated. Structural properties of the films have been studied by examined X-ray diffraction patterns and it has been found that all films have polycrystalline structure. Optical properties of the films have been investigated by using transmittance and photoluminescence spectra. Also, thicknesses and some optical constants (refractive index and extinction coefficient) of the films have been determined using spectroscopic ellipsometry technique. Surface properties have been investigated by using field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) and atomic force microscope (AFM). Elemental analysis has been performed by Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS). Hall measurements have been used to determine electrical properties. After all investigations, it has been determined that Co doping has created important effects on some physical properties of ZnO films and application potentials of the films have been researched.
