Fen ve teknoloji öğretmenlerinin not verme yönelimleri ile gözetimci öğrenci kontrol ideolojileri arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı; Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan Fen ve Teknoloji öğretmenlerinin not verme yönelimleri ile öğrenci kontrol ideolojileri arasındaki ilişkiye yönelik görüşlerini belirlemektir. Bu çalışmada ilişkisel model kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Ankara merkez ilçelerindeki ilköğretim okullarında çalışan 1081 Fen ve Teknoloji öğretmeninden gönüllü olan 381 Fen ve Teknoloji öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Not Verme Yönelimi Ölçeği” ile Willower, Eidell, ve Hoy (1973)’ un geliştirdiği, Yılmaz (2002) tarafından Türkçe’ ye uyarlanan “Öğrenci Kontrol İdeolojisi Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Öğretmenlerin not verme yönelimleri ile gözetimci öğrenci kontrol ideolojisi arasında istatistiksel olarak ilişkiyi ortaya koyan korelasyon analizleri yapılmış ve yorumlanmıştır. Değişkenler arasındaki farklılığı saptamak amacıyla iki kategoriye sahip olanlar için Bağımsız Grup t-Testi ve Mann- Whitney U Testi, üç ve daha fazla kategoriye sahip olanlar için Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) ve Kruskal-Wallis H Testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, Fen ve Teknoloji öğretmenlerinin not verme yönelimleri ile gözetimci öğrenci kontrol ideolojileri arasında negatif yönlü bir ilişkinin varlığı saptanmıştır. Fen ve Teknoloji öğretmenlerinin değerlendirmelerinde daha çok nesnelliğe önem verdikleri belirtmekle birlikte değerlendirmelerin, farklı faktörlerden etkilenebildiklerini ifade etmişleridir. Fen ve Teknoloji öğretmenlerinin belirgin bir öğrenci kontrol ideolojilerinin olmadığı söylenebilir.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between teacher’ sgrading tendecy and pupil control ideologies as percived by teachers working in Turkish public school. In this study, the corrlationall model was used. The universe of the study consisted of 1081 science and techonology teachers working in Turkish secondary schools in central districsts of Ankara. The study group was consisted of 381 science and techonology teachers working in secondary schools of central districts. The teachers were selected using easily accesible sample method. Data were collected by “Grading Tendency Scale” developed by the researcher of this study and “ Pupil Control Ideology Scale” developed by Willower, Eidell ve Hoy (1973) and adapted into Turkish by Yılmaz (2002).Statistically determining the correlation between teachers’grading tendency and pupil control ideology, correlation analysis were used. In order to determine the difference between the variables, Independent Group T-Tests and Mann Whitney U Tests were used for the two categories and One Way analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis H Tests were used for the three categories.As a result of the study, it was found a relationship between Science and Techonology teachers’grading tendency and pupil control ideologies. At the same time, although the science and techonology teachers stated they attached importance to objectivity more in the evaluations, these could be affected by some factors other than the objectives of the lesson. Finally, it can be said that science and techonology teachers haven’t a definite pupil control ideology.
