In this study, humerus and femur lengths of 18-32 weeks pregnant
women were evaluated morphometrically. 348 pregnant women were
included in research. Sonographic assessment was performed via General
Electric Voluson 730 Expert ultrasonography device. Head circumference,
and other fetal structures were also evaluated together with the
measurements: biparietal diameter (BPD), head circumference (HC),
femur length (FL), abdominal circumference (AC), and humerus length
(HF) were measured by ultrasonography method.
It was observed that all groups of the examined variables of fetal
parameters that was measured did not exhibited a normal distribution at
the same time. Statistical comparisons were made using IBM SPSS 21
package program. By applying Shapiro-Wilk, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and
Dunn’s Median Test on the measurements, percentile curves and tables
were created. In conclusion, the measurements that have been made in
this thesis were found to be statistically significant.
The nomograms of fetal structures including biparietal diameter, head
circumference, femur length, abdominal circumference, and humerus
length belonging to our population were studied in our country. When
these nomogram studies were compared to the studies in abroad, it was
found that the studies were not sufficient yet, and the nomograms belong
to our population were limited. Therefore, the nomograms belonging to
different populations that were obtained by ultrasonography were used to
assess the parameters in this study. It is anticipated that this aspect of
the study will provide a different perspective to the studies in the
literature, and make contribution to further studies.
