Toplam 95 hastanın 48’i erkekti.
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness
of blood procalcitonin levels in assessing the severity of acute cholecystitis. The
Emergency Department Patients which is according to the Tokyo Guidelines 2013
with a diagnosis of acute cholecystitis was included the study. This prospective study
was conducted between 01.06.2013-01.10.2014. The patients admitted Eskisehir
Osmangazi University Emergeny Department who are older than 18 years old.
Totaly 95 of patients, 48 were male. Patients were divided into 3 grade according to
the level of severity of acute cholecystitis. The mean value of procalcitonin was 5.82
± 2.58 (0.1-221.3)ng/ml in all patients. The mean value of procalcitonin 0.377 ± 0.08
(0.01-1.75) ng/ml for grade 1 patients, 1.73 ± 1.09 (0.2-21.19) ng/ml for grade 2
patients and 14.02 ± 6.61 (0.5-221.3) ng/ml for grade 3 patients. Blood procalcitonin
levels can use to determining in the severity of acute cholecystitis effectively.
