gelmektedir. Bu sebeple Mod Eşleştirme yöntemi Genelleştirilmiş Saçılma Matrisi tekniği
ile birlikte kullanılmıştır. Geçiş bölgelerindeki süreklilik ifadelerinden sonsuz bilinmeyenli
bir lineer cebirsel denklem sistemi elde edilmiştir. Bu denklem sistemi MATLAB
yardımıyla çözülmüştür. Matematiksel çözümü takiben, geometrik parametrelerin saçılma
katsayılarına etkileri sayısal yöntemlerle ortaya çıkarılmıştır
In this work, the analysis of the sudden area contraction in a parallel plate
waveguide by the Mode Matching method is performed. Waveguide scattering problems
have been encountered for many years and can be analyzed with analytical and numerical
methods. Among these methods, Mode Matching method, which relies on the expression of
field components in terms of modes and the implementation of boundary conditions in
regions with discontinuities depending on the problem geometry, is preferred. While it is
easy to reach a solution with the abovementioned
method for waveguides with a single
discontinuity in their geometry, the solution for waveguides containing more than one
discontinuity, which is the subject of this thesis, is more complex. For this reason, the Mode
Matching method has been used together with the Generalized Scattering Matrix technique.
A linear algebraic equation system with infinite numbers of unknowns has been obtained
from the continuity relations in the transition regions. This system of equations has been
solved with the help of MATLAB. Following the mathematical solution, the effects of
geometric parameters on scattering coefficients are revealed by numerical methods
