Fungal biomass which is produced from Lactarius salmonicolor gained magnetic properties through the modification prosess and it was used for the removal of Reactive Yellow 2 from aqueous solution. The optimum conditions of pH value and biosorbent dosage for the biosorption of RY2 determined by using Response Surface Methodology (Box-Behnken design). Decolorization potential of magnetic and natural biosorbents were investigated both batch and dynamic flow biosorption conditions. Biosorption-desorption studies were continued 25 consecutive cycles indicated that magnetic biosorbent has high desorption yield, about 77%. The equilibrium biosorption data fit pseudo-second order kinetic and Langmuir isotherm model. According to Langmuir isotherm model the maximum monolayer biosorption capacity of magnetic biosorbent was calculated 109,69 mg g-1. The thermodynamics parameters of biosorption show that biosorption process has endothermic in nature. The possible dye-biosorbent interactions were evaluated by zeta potential, FTIR, SEM and EDX analyses. Magnetic property of the produced biyosorbent was investigated by VSM analysis. In general, an ecofriendly, efficient and economical biosorbent was provided for the removal of dye polution.
