The purpose of
this study to create an educational portal “Genç e-sağlık” in an attempt to
develop a healthy eating habit, increase physical activity and reduce
sedentary behavior in order to prevent to overweight gain which is schoolbased
approach in adolescents and there with also test the level of program
information and the behavioral alterations of effectiveness. The study is an
intervention study conducted on 10th grade students in centre of Eskisehir
province between 2014 May-2014 October. A website was created for the
students in the intervention group of the study. Training materials prepared
for the internet medium were taught to the control group students by the
researchers in the form of slides in the classroom environment during each
lesson hour. A significant increase was observed in the average information
scores of the students in the intervention group while no difference was
observed in the control group. After the training, an increase was observed in
the vigorous physical activity levels lasting for at least 20 minutes, the
physical activity levels that will force muscles in the intervention group
students. However, an increase was observed in the vigorous physical
activity levels lasting for at least 20 minutes in the control group students.
The number of step that students walked daily, was exceeded suggested
level in both group, however the number of step was lower at before of
intervention. It has been observed that web-based training was more
successful than classic training in improving the level of information. It was
concluded that it would be useful to use different teaching and learning
techniques and to continue these trainings because of the positive influence
of training conducted in adolescent age group towards their behavior.
