Yapılan çalışmada Kırka boraks işletmesinde üretilmekte olan konsantre tinkal’in
Deneylerde tinkal’in ısıtıldığında kristal suyunu kaybederek parçalanması
The aim of this study is to research the feasibility of the beneficiation of
concentrate tincal which is produced in the Kırka borax enterprise by the help of using
heat treatment and decripitation methods, rather than the method which is currently
being used.
In the study, boron and its compounds were mentioned initially. The boron
reserves in Turkey and worldwide, its production, consumption and commerce
circumstances were touched on and the boron production facilities were examined.
A sample of raw tincal which contains 25-26% B2O3 was taken from the interlude
building of the Kırka concentrator facilities to be used in the popping experiment and
was subject to the popping process that took place in the ore preparation laboratories of
Eskisehir Osmangazi University with the use of a Lenton brand immobile oven.
The characteristic of tincal, which causes it to break when it loses its crystal
water, was used in the experiment. After being popped by the help of heat treatment,
tincal takes a cotton like structure and clay granules harden to a stone becoming more
evident thus, it was noticed that this makes it easy to separate them.
After the popping experiments, the decripitated products which gave the best
popping results were step by step put through the crumbling and sieving processes, and
thus the beneficiation process by way of separating borax from clay is concluded.
After the crumbling and sieving procedures, the B2O3 percentages of the samples
which were set aside as concentrate and residue was determined by chemical analyses.
The best results were seen in the sample which was popped for 25 minutes at 550 0C
degrees. The B2O3 percentage of the concentrate which was popped at 550 0C degrees
for 25 minutes was % 56.78 and the percentage of B2O3 in the tailing was % 4.46, thus
the determined efficiency is %92.6.
