kontrol gruplu desen’’ (pre-test post-test control group design) kullanılmıştır.
Package for the Social Sciences) ortamında analiz edilmiştir.
This study was designed to understand the effects of ‘‘Mathematics’’ course
taught by multiple intelligence based instruction on learning, permanent learning,
students’ and teachers’ thoughts in teaching process. In the research, among
experimental research design procedures, ‘‘pre-test post-test control group design’’
method was used.
For the study, students enrolled in the ‘‘Mathematics’’ course were randomly
selected from the seventh classes at Yavuz Selim Elementary School and Mualla Zeyrek
Elementary School during 2005-2006 fall semester in Eskişehir. Forty-one students
were assigned into the experiment group taught by Multiple Intelligence principles
based instruction and sixty-six students were assigned into the control group trained by
traditional instruction.
In order to ascertain the effects of Multiple Intelligence based instruction on
students’ opinions and their achievements, the data pertaining participants were
collected by developing two instruments for application before and after the experience
proceeding. First scale was used applied to determine the students’ achievements in the
‘‘Mathematics’’ course. The second one was used to examine students’ thoughts about
the course taught by Multiple Intelligence based instruction.
SPPS-10 (Statistical Package fort he Social Sciences) was used to analyze the
data. According to statistical results, standard deviation and total means students’
achievements were calculated and their thoughts were evaluated. Additionally,
independent–sample t test analysis was used to determine whether there are significant
differences in post-test responses from the pre-test responses and post-test responses
from permanent learning test with regard to the students’ achievements.
In conclusion, multiple intelligence principles based instruction positively
influenced the experiment group students’ opinions and their achievements comparing
to the control group students’ without measurement and group discrimination.
Furthermore, the teacher’s opinions were highly positive too. But there is no a
significant difference between groups according to permanent learning test result.
