Aile
hekiminden danışmanlık alma durumuyla anne sütünün bebek sağlığına etkileri
karşılaştırıldığında genelde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Ayrıca
danışmanlık alan annelerin % 98.2'si emzirmenin meme kanserinden, % 80.7'si
The fact that the superior aspects
of breast milk have been proven has made the breastfeeding process the most important
step in supporting the physical and mental health of the baby. Our aim in our study; to
evaluate the breast milk and breastfeeding behaviors of mothers, to understand the
attitudes of mothers who stopped breastfeeding in the early period, to offer solutions to
the problems identified, and to be beneficial to the training given on breastfeeding. To our
study; 188 mothers who were literate, over the age of 18, had no cognitive dysfunction,
and had a child between 0-2 years old, participated. 83.5% of the mothers are high school
and above graduates. 53.2% of the mothers gave birth by cesarean section. Mothers stated
that they mostly received information about breast milk from health personnel. All
mothers who participated in our study gave colostrum to their babies. A statistically
significant relationship was found between the time of mothers giving colostrum and the
mode of delivery. Among the participants, those who gave supplementary food to their
babies for the first 6 months and those who used antibiotics for their babies were
statistically significantly higher (P=0.022). When compared with the effects of breast milk
on infant health and the counseling status of the family physician, it was found statistically
significant in general (p<0.05). In addition, 98.2% of mothers knew that breastfeeding
protected from breast cancer, 80.7% from ovarian cancer, 78.9% from uterine cancer, and
80.7% of them knew that postpartum bleeding would be less. In the trainings, it should
be emphasized that feeding only breast milk for the first 6 months is sufficient for the
growth and development of the baby, especially for mothers and healthcare personnel, and
the self-confidence of mothers in breastfeeding should be increased
