The purpose of the study was to analyze high school students’ values comperatively. In this study, respect, responsibility, friendship, peace, clemency and honesty values were surveyed and then a general idea about values was found. The universe of this study was the high school students studying in 9th and 12th grades in EskiĢehir. Sample was chosen with stratified sampling method. The
Humanitarian Values Survey , including six sub-value forms, developed by Bülent
Dilmaç, was used to collect data about whether high school students’ humanitarian values change based on their grade, gender and school type and whether the curriculum reach its goals in terms of values. The relationship among students’ six sub-scale scores were also investigated.
In the methodology, factor analysis and reliability tests were used on the
Humanitarian Values Survey. Independent samples t-test, correlations and Kruskal Wallis-H test were used in order to find whether these values differ based on gender, class and school type. Whether there is a relationship between these values, Pearson Correlation analysis was used.
The results of the study indicated that, while peace, responsibility and friendship values differed based on gender, clemency, honesty and respect values did not. Any of the values surveyed except friendship differed based on grade and only clemency differed based on the school type. Significant relationships were found among the values except friendship and clemency.
