The plant needs large quantities of phosphorus (P). The uptake of P is frequently as high as the uptake of nitrogen. Phosphorus can easily react with constituents in a short time and forms insoluble compounds that are not available to plants. In this study, three different P doses (0, 60 and 120 kg P2O5 /ha) are used to determine P efficiency on triticale cultivars (Tatlıcak-97, Karma-2000, Melez-2001, Mikham-2002, Presto, Samursorti) which are important especially as feed plants in country’s agriculture. Effect of P doses on plant height, grain yield, harvest index, straw yield, biomass, and P content of grain and straw of triticale genotypes was investigated.
Phosphorus doses affected significantly the grain yield, harvest index, biomass, P content of grain, straw and grain+straw (P<0.01) and straw yield (P<0.05). Plant height was not affected significantly by P doses. The analysis of variance revealed that there are significant differences between grain yield, P content of grain, straw and “grain+straw” parameters due to “genotype x dose” interaction.
