Jutta Treiber'ın Vergewaltigt (Tecavüz) ve Laurie Halse Anderson'ın Speak (Konuş) adlı sorun odaklı gençlik romanlarında tecavüz konusunun karşılaştırılması

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Avusturya çocuk ve gençlik edebiyatının en önemli yazarlarından biri olan Jutta Treiber'ın Vergewaltigt (Tecavüz) adlı romanı ve dünyaca tanınmış Amerikalı çocuk ve gençlik edebiyatı yazarı Laurie Halse Anderson'ın Speak (Konuş) adlı sorun odaklı romanındaki ?tecavüz? konusunu analitik bir yaklaşımla karşılaştırmaktır.Bu çalışmada, tecavüz, tecavüzün etkileri, tecavüz sonrası mağdurun yaşamındaki değişimler, sıkıntılar, zorluklar ve iyileşme çabaları gibi konuların Treiber ve Anderson tarafından bu romanlarında genç okuyuculara nasıl yansıtıldığı gösterilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, bu eserlerin gençlik edebiyatı kriterlerine uygun olup olmadıklarını, çoğulcu inceleme yöntemiyle karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmek de hedeflenmektedir.Bu karşılaştırmalı çalışmanın sonunda, tecavüz sorununu konu alan bu sorun odaklı gençlik romanlarının ikisinde de bazı farklılıkların yanında pek çok ortak noktanın bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, gençlerin yaşamına ışık tutan bu romanların, genç okurlara tecavüz konusunda duyarlılık kazandıracak olumlu örnekler olduğu görülmüştür.

This study aims to compare the theme of ?rape? through an analytical approach in the novel Vergewaltigt by Jutta Treiber, one of the most important authors of the Austrian Children?s and Youth Literature and the problem novel Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson who is a world famous author of the American Children?s and Youth Literature.This study tries to show how the themes, such as the rape, the effects of rape, the changing, the difficulties, the complications in the life of victims after the rape and the struggle to recover, have been reflected to young readers by Treiber and Anderson in these novels. This work also aims to comparatively investigate by means of pluralist analysing method if these novels are suitable for the standards of Youth Literatur.In consequence of that comparative study it is determined that there are so many similiar points in addition to some differences in both of these proplem-oriented youth novels, the themes of which are rape. In addition, it is observed that these novels which illuminate the lives of young people, are the positive samples for the young readers in order to get sensitivity about the subject of rape.
