Çokgenler konusunun bilgisayar destekli öğretiminin 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarına ve bilgisayar destekli geometri öğretimine yönelik tutumlarına etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırma, altıncı sınıf düzeyinde dinamik geometri programı Geometer's Sketchpad ile hazırlanan geometri etkinliklerinin öğrencilerin geometri konularını öğrenmede bilgisayar kullanımına yönelik tutumlarına ve akademik başarılarına etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Araştırma, kontrol gruplu ön test- son test deney deseni uygulanmış deneysel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Eskişehir ili, Tepebaşı ilçesinde bulunan Reşat Benli İlköğretim Okulundaki 30 deney grubunda ve 30 da kontrol grubunda olmak üzere toplam 60 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmacı tarafından deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere 2 hafta süre ile uygulama yapılmıştır. Deney grubundaki öğrencilere çokgenler konusu bilgisayar destekli öğretim ile işlenirken kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere geleneksel yöntem ile eş zamanlı olarak ders işlenmiştir. Çalışmada, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan bilgisayar destekli geometri öğretimine yönelik tutum ölçeği, çalışma yaprakları, başarı ön ve son testleri uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde öğrencilerin tutumları, başarı ön testi ve son testinden aldıkları puanların ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla bağımlı ve bağımsız t- testinden ve tek yönlü ANOVA testlerinden yararlanılmıştır.Araştırmanın sonucunda, bilgisayar destekli öğretim gören öğrenciler ile geleneksel yöntemle öğrenim gören öğrencilerin bilgisayar destekli geometri öğretimine yönelik tutumları arasında anlamlı bir fark elde edilmemiştir. Buna karşın, bilgisayar destekli öğrenim gören öğrenciler ile geleneksel yöntemle öğrenim gören öğrencilerin akademik başarıları arasında anlamlı bir fark görülmüştür. Çokgenler konusunun bilgisayar destekli öğretim ile işlenmesinin öğrencilerin akademik başarıları üzerinde etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This study is done with the aim of clarifying the attitudes and academic success of sixth grade students with geometry activities, prepared by dynamic geometry software Geometer?s Sketchpad.Pre- test post- test model was used in the study. The sampling of study was done in sixth grade students of Reşat Benli Primary School at Tepebaşı County in Eskişehir. There were totally 60 students as 30 students was control group and 30 students was experiment group. The application was done by the researcher on experiment and control groups as two- week study. The polygon subject was taught concurrently with computer aided education to the experimental group and with classical education methodology to the control group. During the study, attitude scale, study sheets, success pre and post tests for computer aided education, prepared by the researcher, were applied. During the analysis of obtained data, to clarify the meaningful difference between the results of pre and post test, paired sample and independent sample t- tests and one way Anova test were used.As a result of the research, there was not a meaningful difference about attitudes for geometry education between the students learned the subject with computer aided education system and with classical education methodology. But however, there was a meaningful difference about academic success between the students learned the subject with computer aided education system and with classical education methodology. It is discovered that teaching polygon subject with computer aided system has positive effect on students? academic success
