Altıncı sınıf matematik öğretmenlerinin matematik dersi öğretim programına ilişkin görüşleri

Abstract

The mathematics curriculum which was applied in education year 2006-2007 has led to a lot of innovation about the structure and applications of the lesson. The aim of this research is to determine and compare teachers’ opinions with some variables about the new mathematics curriculum. The data were collected from the mathematics teachers working in the city center, towns and villages of Eskisehir in education year 2006–2007. A questionnaire which was prepared by researcher was used to determine the opinions of the teachers. Variance analysis and t test were used to analyze the collected data. Result of this research indicates that mathematics teachers’ opinions about the new curriculum were positive but they encounter some problems in practice. Applying the curriculum in class and evaluating the students are two major difficulties of teachers. And the other major difficulties in practice are those the classes are too crowded, duration of lessons is inadequate, there are a lot of differences between the exam which is practiced after the primary school and the new curriculum, school managements and parents don't give enough support to teachers, the infrastructure and resources of schools are insufficient, and the amount of measurement and evaluation activities are too much to apply. At the end of the research some suggestions are proposed about the subject.

2006–2007 öğretim yılından itibaren uygulanmaya baslanan İlköğretim Matematik Dersi Öğretim Programı, dersin yapısında ve uygulamalarda birçok yenilik getirmistir. Bu çalısmanın amacı, İlköğretim 6. Sınıf Matematik Dersi Öğretim Programı ile ilgili öğretmen görüslerinin tespit edilmesi ve bazı değiskenlere göre karsılastırılmasıdır. Arastırmada veriler 2006–2007 öğretim yılında Eskisehir il merkezi, ilçe, belde ve köylerindeki devlet okullarındaki 6. sınıf matematik öğretmenlerinden toplanmıstır. Öğretmenlerin görüslerinin belirlenmesi için arastırmacı tarafından hazırlanan bir anket uygulanmıstır. Verilerin çözümlenmesi için t testi ve varyans analizinden yararlanılmıstır. Arastırma sonuçlarına göre, matematik öğretmenleri yeni matematik programını olumlu bulduklarını ancak uygulamada bazı sorunlarla karsılastıklarını belirtmislerdir. Öğretmenlerin özellikle programın uygulanmasında ve öğrencilerin değerlendirilmesinde bazı güçlüklerle karsılastıkları sonucuna ulasılmıstır. Sınıfların çok kalabalık olması, ders süresinin yetersizliği, ilköğretim sonrası yapılan sınav ile yeni program arasında farklılıkların bulunması, okul yönetimlerinin ve velilerin öğretmenlere yeterli destek vermemesi, okulların alt yapısının ve olanaklarının yetersiz olması, ölçme-değerlendirme etkinliklerinin çok fazla olması uygulamada karsılasılan en önemli güçlüklerdir. Arastırmanın sonunda konu ile ilgili önerilerde bulunulmustur
