anilinlerden (a, b, c) hazırlanan fenolik Schiff bazları (2, 3, 4, 5); DMSO-H+ katalizörlüğünde I2

orjinaldirler.
In this study, Schiff bases (2, 3, 4, 5) which were prepared from 2-
hydroxybenzaldehyde (1) aniline and (2'-,3'-,4'-chloro) substituted anilines (a, b, c) were
reacted with DMSO-H+ and I2 at 80°C, and at a pH= 5 for 2 hours with the aim of forming
Schiff bases (6, 7, 8, 9) which were substituted with iodine and at certain times reactions were
controlled by TLC .

The structures of the products were established with MASS, UV, 1H-NMR,13C-NMR
spectra and elemental analysis.
Under our rection conditions iodine was substituted to the B rings of the phenolic
Schiff bases (2, 3, 4, 5).
It is known from the literature that the electrofilic aromatic iodine substitution is a
difficult reaction.
Our original reaction at the literatüre the substances that known and original
substances synthesizing their structures that were established.
Our iodination method and the iodinated schiff bases (6, 7, 8, 9) were original in
organic chemistry literature.
