This project has been implemented in order to meet the technical drawing
requirements for EN AW-2024 (AlCu4Mg1) aluminum alloy tube used in the body part of
the "Push Rod" parts used in the Turkish Utility Helicopter; It covers the P&D work for tube
upsetting process, swaging process and prevention of micro cracks resulting from these
processes.
Upsetting process is generally used in steel tubes in the world. It is not a common
process in our country. The valuea dded of the development of this uncommon
manufacturing method and the shortening of many long and costly flow-forming processes
that this method can replace, has an enormous importance to the industry in our country.
With the rapid development of the manufacturing industry, swaging technology is
being used more and more widely in the automobile, aviation and aviation industries due to
its advantages, such as material savings, reduced supply time and improved product quality.
In this study, tube upsetting process, swaging processes and their effects on each
other were examined. These two processes were applied together with experimental methods
and microcrack problems arising were investigated. The effects of heat treatment
applications on these processes were investigated
