In this study, Büyük Akgöl lake zoobenthic fauna; species belonging to Gastropoda, Oligochaeta and Chironomidae were determined. This study revealed that accumulation levels of heavy metals in water, sediment and members of Gastropoda, Oligochaeta, Chironimidae as well as in the tissues of Esox lucius. Examining zoobenthic samples collected from five station in Mogan lake, a total of 29 species including 10 from Gastropoda, 1 Bivalvia, 9 Oligochaeta and 9 Chironomidae were identified. When consantrations of metal according to average value in the water were examined, it was observed that consantrations of B, Al, Cr, K; in the sediment Fe, Al, ve Mn; in Gastropoda samples (Lymnaea stagnalis) both shell and soft tissue Fe, Mn, Al; in Oligochaeta samples Fe, Cu, Zn ve Cr; in Chironomidae samples Mn, Al, Fe and B attained high level. The highest metal concentrations found in the muscle of the Esox lucius as Fe, Zn ve Ni; in giils Fe, Zn ve Mn; in liver Fe, Mn and Zn.Our results showed that the occurence of metals in water, sediment, and the three zoobenthic taxa and different tissue of Esox lucius are relatively high. The opinion that supports the results of Lake Büyük Akgöl shows that gastropods, oligochaetes, chironomids member?s and E. lucius accumulate examined metals several times over compared to their surroundings. Therefore, it is concluded that the gastropods, oligochaetes, chironomids and the fish are suitable candidates to be used in biomonitoring surveys of Lake Büyük Akgöl.Key words: Lake Büyük Akgöl, Chironomidae, Oligochaeta, Gastropoda, Esox lucius, metal, water quality.
