Kontrol
grubunda 1. tükürük numunesi 30., 2. tükürük numunesi 34. gebelik
haftalarında alınmıştır.
Bulgular: Yoga destekli doğuma hazırlık eğitimi, doğuma hazırlık eğitimi ve
kontrol grubunda yer alan gebelerin son ölçüm tükürük kortizol düzeyleri
bakımından anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamaktadır (p>0.05). Yoga destekli
iii
anlamlı şekilde düşük olduğu tespit edilmiştir (p=0.019). Yoga destekli doğuma
hazırlık ve doğuma hazırlık eğitimi alan gebelerin doğuma hazır oluş son test
puanlarının ön test puanlarından anlamlı düzeyde düşük olduğu saptanmıştır
(p<0.001).
Sonuç: Sonuç olarak, yoga destekli doğuma hazırlık eğitiminin gebelerin
tükürük kortizol düzeyini düşürdüğü, doğum korkularını azalttığı ve doğuma
hazır oluş ve durumluk kaygı düzeylerini arttırdığı saptanmıştır
The research is a semi-experimental study with a non-randomized
intervention-control group pretest-posttest design designed to determine the
effect of yoga-assisted and non-yoga assisted childbirth preparation education
given to pregnant women on saliva cortisol, anxiety, fear of childbirth and
readiness of birth.
Materials and Methods: This research was carried out between April 12, 2019
and October 30, 2019. The data of research were collected between 12 April 2019
and 30 October 2019. The sample of the study consisted of 60 pregnant women
who applied to a University Hospital, City Hospital and nineteen family health
centers in Eskişehir. The study was carried out with 60 pregnant women who
were in their 30th gestational week and had no risky pregnancy. In the study,
there were three groups including yoga-assisted childbirth preparation education
(n=19), childbirth preparation education (n=22), and control group (n=19).
Intervention groups were trained once a week for 4 weeks. In the yoga-assisted
childbirth preparation education group 50 minutes childbirth preparation
education and 50 minutes of prenatal yoga and in the childbirth education group
50 minutes pregnant women were provided with childbirth preparation
education. Trainings were started at the 30th gestational week of pregnant
women and completed at the 34th gestational week. The data of the study were
collected by pregnant information form, saliva sample collection material, status continuous anxiety inventory and prenatal self-assessment scale- readiness and
fear of birth subscales. In the training groups, saliva samples were collected from
the pregnant women in the first and fourth training sessions at the beginning
and end of each training. On the other hand, in the control group, the first saliva
sample was collected at 30th weeks, the second saliva sample was collected at
34th weeks of gestation.
Results: There was no significant difference between the groups in terms of
saliva cortisol levels of pregnant women in yoga-assisted childbirth preparation
education, childbirth preparation education and control group (p>0.05). It was
found that post-education cortisol levels of the pregnant women in the yoga assisted childbirth preparation education group were significantly lower than the
pre-education (p<0.001). It was found that the state anxiety inventory posttest
scores of the pregnant women who received yoga-assisted childbirth education
and childbirth education were significantly higher than the pregnants in the
control group (p<0.001). It was found that there was no significant difference in
the comparison of the fear of childbirth post-test scores by groups (p>0.05). It was
determined that fear of childbirth post-test scores were significantly lower than
the pre-test scores in the yoga-assisted childbirth preparation education and
v
childbirth preparation education groups (p=0.003, p<0.001). It was determined
that there was a significant difference in terms of readiness of birth by groups of
pregnant women (p=0.019). It was determined that the posttest scores of the
pregnant women who received yoga-assisted childbirth preparation education
were significantly lower than the pregnants in the control group (p=0.019). It was
found that the posttest scores of the readiness of birth level of the pregnant
women who received yoga-assisted childbirth preparation education and
childbirth preparation education were significantly lower than the pre-test scores
(p<0.001).
Conclusion: As a result, it has been determined that yoga-assisted childbirth
preparation education decreases saliva cortisol values and fears of birth while
increasing the readiness and state anxiety levels of pregnant women
