Bu araştırmada dijital hikâyelerle desteklenen bilim uygulamaları
dersinin 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel tutumlarına etkisi ve bilimin doğasına ilişkin
görüşlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Bu çalışmada nicel veriler için yarı deneysel desenden, bilimin
doğasına ilişkin görüşlerin incelenmesinde ise nitel yöntemlerden olgu bilim deseninden
yararlanılmıştır. Çalışma 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılı içerisinde Eskişehir İl Milli
Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı bir devlet ortaokulunun 7. sınıf Bilim Uygulamaları dersi
çerçevesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmaya Bilim Uygulamaları dersini alan dört
şubeye kayıtlı 53’ü erkek 40’ı kız olmak üzere toplam 93 öğrenci katılmıştır. Uygulama

Bununla birlikte bilimsel
bilginin delillere dayalı olması temasına ilişkin öğrenci görüşlerini destekleyecek
çalışmalar yapılabilir
This research, it was aimed to examine the effects of science
applications courses supported by digital stories on the scientific attitudes of 7th grade
students and their views on the nature of science.
Method: In this study, quasi-experimental design was used for quantitative data,
and phenomenological design, which is a qualitative method, was used in examining the
views on the nature of science. The study was carried out within the framework of the
7th grade Science Applications course of a state secondary school affiliated to the
Eskişehir Provincial Directorate of National Education in the 2020-2021 academic year.
A total of 93 students, 53 male and 40 female, enrolled in four branches who took the
Science Applications course participated in the research. While the lessons in the
experimental group were supported by digital stories during the implementation
process, the current curriculum was adhered to in the control group. The data collection
process was completed in six weeks. The scientific attitude scale was applied in the first
week of this six-week process. A total of 12 of digital stories were used in the second,
third, fourth and fifth weeks. In the last week, the opinions of 18 students in the
experimental group, who were thought to contribute the most to the study determined
by the scientific attitude scale and purposive sampling, were received on the nature of
science. While the Scientific Attitude Scale was used to collect quantitative data, the
Views on the Nature of Science Questionnaire (VNOS-D) was used to collect
qualitative data. In the study, t-test, Mann-Whitney U test and descriptive statistics for
dependent and independent groups were used in the analysis of the quantitative data
obtained from the Scientific Attitude Scale. Descriptive analyzes were used in the
analysis of the data obtained from the Survey of Views on the Nature of Science.

Results: It has been found that there is a significant difference between the
pretest and posttest mean scores of the experimental and control group students
regarding the scientific attitudes, the pretest-posttest related to the scientific attitudes of
the control group students, and the pretest-posttest mean scores of the experimental
group students' scientific attitudes. However, it was determined that there was a
difference between the post-test mean scores of the experimental and control group
students. However, it has been observed that the majority of students' views on the
nature of science themes are changeable, the difference between observation and
inference, and the role of imagination and creativity in science. However, it has been
observed that more than half of the student's views on the subjective nature of scientific
knowledge are in the transition phase. However, it was seen that most of the students'
opinions on the theme of scientific knowledge being based on evidence were in the
incomplete category.
Conclusion and Suggestions: As a result of the statistical analysis, it was
revealed that digital storytelling positively improved the scientific attitude of the
students in the applied group. However, it was seen that most of the students' opinions
on the theme of scientific knowledge being based on evidence were in the incomplete
category. Based on these results, studies can be conducted to use digital storytelling in
lessons. In addition, studies can be conducted to support students' views on the theme of
scientific knowledge being based on evidence
