Bir muhataba yönelik söylenen her ifade hitap olarak adlandırılabilir.
Ġnsanların iletişim kurmalarını sağlayan en temel araç olarak diller çeşitli hitap
ifadelerine sahiptir. Fakat dil nasıl ki konuşulduğu toplumun değerlerinden ve
kültüründen etkileniyorsa, hitap ifadeleri de etkilenmekte ve buna göre
şekillenmektedir. Bu sebeple her toplumun kullandığı hitap ifadeleri kendine
özgüdür ve o toplumun değerlerinden izler taşımaktadır. Yaş, cinsiyet, statü, sosyal
mesafe gibi bazı sosyal değişkenler hitap yapıları üzerinde etkili olmaktadır. Bununla
birlikte, hitap formları muhataba yönelik saygı, sevgi ve nezaket ifadelerine göre de
şekillenmekte ve bunları muhataba yansıtma görevini de üzerinde taşımaktadır. Hitap
ifadelerinin toplumsal değerler ve kültür sayesinde oluştuğu düşünülürse, bu
konunun toplumdilbilim alanı içinde incelenmesi gereklidir.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, toplumdilbilim alanından faydalanarak hitabın ne
olduğu ve sınırlarını belirttikten sonra, hitap ifadeleri üzerinde etkili olan sosyal
değişkenleri inceleyip hitap ile saygı ifadeleri arasındaki ilişkiyi açıklamaktır. Tüm
bunların ışığında, bu çalışmada, Eski Türkçe metinlerde sosyal değişkenlerin hitap
ifadelerini nasıl etkilediği gösterilmiştir. Bununla beraber Eski Türkçe metinlerde
kullanılan hitap ifadelerine odaklanılıp bu ifadeler dilbilgisel, sözcüksel ve
edimbilimsel olarak üç bölümde incelenmiştir. Runik harfli metinlerden ve Eski
Uygur Türkçesi ile yazılmış metinlerden alınan örneklerle Eski Türkçede kullanılan
hitap ifadeleri açıklanmıştır. Aynı zamanda, hitap formlarının kullanımı ile saygı
ifadeleri arasındaki ilişki bu metinlerde de gösterilmiştir
Every expression that is to be directed to an interlocutor can be called
addressing. Languages, as the fundamental tools which help people to communicate,
have various addressing expressions. However, since the language is affected by the
values and the culture of the related society, the addressing words are also influenced
and formed according to these variables. For this reason, every addressing words
used by each society are unique and they carry traces of societal values. Some social
variables such as age, gender, status and social distance, can have an impact on
addressing structures. In addition to that, addressing words can be formed in relation
to the expressions of respect, love, andcourtesy which are directed to the interlocutor.
Therefore, they carry the mission of projecting these expressions to the interlocutor.
Considering the addressing words shaped by societal values and culture, this subject
should be examined in the field of sociolinguistics.
The aims of this research, after demonstrating what the addressing is and the limits of
it with the help of sociolinguistics, are examining the impact of the social variables
on addressing words and explaining the relation between the addressing and respect
expressions. In light of these, with this research, it was demonstrated how social
variables affect the addressing words in Old Turkic texts. At the same time, by
focusing the addressing words in Old Turkic texts, these expressions were analyzed
in three chapters as grammatical, lexical, and pragmatics. The addressing words of
Old Turkic were explained with the examples from texts containing Runic letters and
from texts written in Old Uighur Turkic. Moreover, the relation between the usage of
addressing words and respect expressions was also shown in these texts
