In this research, it is aimed to examine the experience of individuals who participate in the event
of the mountain climbing within the framework of flow theory. In-depth interviews were
conducted with 18 people who had participated in the event of the mountain climbing in Eskisehir
and determined by the maximum variation sampling method, which it was prepared with a
qualitative research. As a result of the research, it was determined that the individuals
experienced the state of flow in mountain climbing activities. It can be stated that the flow
experience of the individuals is occurred mainly in the dimension of difficult situation and skill
balance, autotelic experience, simultaneous feedback, a sense of control, the loss of self consciousness, concentration and the main purposes. On the other hand, the results also show
that the participants have experienced the optimal performance when they felt sufficient to cope
with the diffuculties during the event of climbing.
