Amaç: Mevcut çalışmanın amacı, Belçika’da ve Emirdağ’da yaşayan
kişilerin hasta hakları konusunda tutumlarının ve tutum geliştirmede
kültürel farklılıkların etkisinin belirlenmesidir.
Kapsam: Bu araştırmada aynı etnik kökene, ortak sosyal ve kültürel
sermayeye sahip fakat farklı coğrafyalarda yaşamını sürdüren
“Emirdağ’da yaşayan (n=521) ve Emirdağ’dan Belçika’ya göç etmiş
kişilerin (n=522)” hasta hakları konusunda tutumları ölçülmüştür.
Yöntem: Nicel araştırma yaklaşımının kullanıldığı mevcut çalışmada
likert tipi “Hasta Haklarını Kullanma Tutum Ölçeği (HHKTÖ)” ve
demografik soru formu kullanılarak toplam 1043 katılımcıdan veri
elde edilmiştir. Analiz yöntemi olarak parametrik olmayan Mann
Whitney-U ve Kruskal Wallis H testleri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen
bulgular ayrı ayrı verildikten sonra iki gruptan elde edilen verilerin
karşılaştırılması yapılmış, göç ve kültür perspektifinden bakılarak
değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.
Bulgular: Ölçek toplam puan ortalaması Emirdağ grubunda
126,09±15,21; Belçika grubunda ise 129,78±13,356 olarak
gerçekleşmiştir. Her iki grupta en yüksek tutumun “tıbbi olarak özen
gösterilmesini isteme hakkı” ve “tıbbi ve ilaç araştırmalarında rıza
hakkı” yönünde ortak paydada oluştuğu görülürken, iki grup en
düşük madde puan ortalamasını alan ifadelerde farklılaşmışlardır.
Ölçeğin “bilgili ve saygılı hizmet alma hakkı”, “personeli seçme
değiştirme ve kayıtları inceleme hakkı”, “tedaviye onay verme ve
reddetme hakkı”, “organ doku naklinde rıza alınması, aile planlaması,
kullanma ve gebeliği sonlandırma hakkı” faktörlerinde iki grup ortak
tutum geliştirmiştir.

Sonuç: Organ nakli ve ötanazi gibi, doktrinde birbirinden farklı
uygulamaların olduğu konularda kişilerin seçim ve kararlarına yön
veren yapılar, bireyler hatta toplumlarda egemen olan kural, inanç ve
değerler olabilmektedir. Göçmen katılımcıların seçim yapma ve karar
vermelerinde kendi öz kültürlerinde hâkim inanç, kural ve değerlerin
rol oynadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır
Objective: The aim of the study is to assess the attitudes of individuals
living in Belgium and in Emirdağ in regard to patient rights and the
effect of cultural differences in developing the attitude.
Scope: The study measures the attitudes of two groups of people
living in a different geographies, “individuals living in Emirdağ (n =
521) and Individuals emigrated from Emirdağ to Belgium (n = 522)”,
and yet having the same ethnic origin, common social and cultural
capital.
Method: Implementing quantitative research, the data for the current
study was obtained from a total of 1043 participants, who were
administered the Likert type “Patient Rights Attitude Scale
(HHKTÖ)” along with demographic questionnaire. For the analysis
method non-parametric tests Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis H
were used. Findings obtained separately from the two groups,
subsequently, had been compared and evaluated from the perspective
of migration and culture.
Results: The total score mean of the scale is 126.09 ± 15.21 in the
Emirdağ group, whereas in the Belgian group, it is 129.78 ± 13.356.
While the highest attitude in both groups observed under “the right to
seek medical attention” and “the right to consent in medical and drug
researches” items and thus these items are considered as a common
denominator, the two groups differed in the scale items that received
the lowest average . The groups developed same attitude in terms of
the scale's items: "right to receive informed and respectful service",
"the right to select, replace staff and review the records", "the right to
approve and refuse treatment", "consent in organ tissue

transplantation, and use, the right for family planning, and
termination of pregnancy " .
Conclusion: The structures that directs the choices and decisions of
individuals in critical subjects such as organ transplantation and
euthanasia, and thus having different practices in the doctrine, can
be affected by individuals and even societies rules, beliefs and values.
It was concluded that immigrant participants’ dominating culture and
related beliefs, rules and values play a role in the making of decision
and choice
