Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı farklı plazma yüzey işlemleri uygulanarak
polietereterketon ve veneer kompozit arasındaki yetersiz yüzey bağlantısının artırılmasını
değerlendirmektir.
Materyal ve Metot: Yüzeyleri standardize edilmiş 130 adet polietereterketon
çubuk 5 gruba (n=26) ayrıldı ve farklı plazma işlemine tabi tutuldu (%100 Argon plazma,
%50 Argon+%50 Oksijen plazma, %50 Argon+%50 Nitrojen plazma, %75
Argon+%12.5 Oksijen+%12.5 Nitrojen plazma ve Kontrol grubu). Yüzey
pürüzlülüklerini değerlendirmek amacıyla, her gruptan seçilen birer örnek, Taramalı
Elektron Mikroskobu (SEM) (n=5) ve Atomik Kuvvet Mikroskobunda (AFM) (n=5)
incelendi.
Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the bond strength between the veneer
composite by applying different plasma surface treatments to the polyetheretherketone
surface.
Material and Method: 130 polyetheretherketon bars with standardized
surfaces were divided into 5 groups (n=26) and subjected to different plasma treatment
(100% Argon plasma, 50% Argon+50% Oxygen plasma, 50% Argon+50% Nitrogen
plasma, 75% Argon+12.5% Oxygen+12.5% Nitrogen plasma and Control group). In
order to evaluate the surface roughness, a sample selected from each group was examined
in a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) (n=5) and Atomic Force Microscope (AFM)
(n=5). In order to evaluate the wettability with the “sessile drop” technique (n=20), the
contact angles of four different liquids (diiodomethane, ethyleneglycol, formamide,
water) were measured on the samples. Visio.link primer (n=10) was applied to the surface
of half of the samples in each group (n=20). All samples were bound with shear and
subjected to shear test.
Results: The mean bond strength values (13.86 and 13.60 MPa, respectively)
of Ar plasma and Ar/O2/N2 groups with Visio.link primer applied were statistically higher
than in the control group (8.95 MPa). The shear bond strength values of Visio.link
subgroups were found to be higher than those of the Visio.link-free subgroups. In groups
without Visio.link application, there was no statistically significant difference between
the bond strength averages (p>0.05).
Conclusion: Since the bond strength values (1.13-2.99 MPa) remain below the
ISO standards (>5 Mpa) in all subgroups that do not apply primer (Visio.link), the coating
composites should not be applied to the polyetheretherketone substrate without
primer. The use of argon plasma as a single (100%), or as argon+oxygen+nitrogen plasma
increases the polyetheretherketone/composite connection
