ZnO and Al doped ZnO materials, which have many working areas with advancing
technology, attract attention with their applications in optoelectronic technology. In this
study, ZnO and % 0.75, % 1 and % 1.25 Al doped ZnO films which have coated 5 layers on
the glass substrates and have annealed at 500 °C and 600 °C annealing temperatures
individually have been produced by using spin coating method. The structural, optical,
surface and electrical properties of these films were analyzed by various analysis techniques
and the effect of Al element which was added in different ratios and also the effect of
annealing temperature on the films were investigated. From the structural properties of the
films determined with the X-ray diffraction device, it was determined that all of the films
are hexagonal and polycrystalline. The thicknesses of the films and the parameters that
define some optical properties of the films (refractive index and extinction coefficient) were
determined by spectroscopic ellipsometry and thickness values were measured between 117-
154 nm. All of the films determined by the optical method were found to have direct band
transition and forbidden energy ranges between 3.23 eV-3.27 eV. It is determined that the
maximum transmittance of the films at the visible light wavelength (400 nm-700 nm) is
between % 77-% 94. Traps were identified from the photoluminescence spectra of the films.
Surface morphology and elemental analysis of the films were determined by Scanning
Electron Microscope (SEM) and the Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) Spectroscopy
technique, respectively. The surface topographies and surface roughness of the produced
films were determined by Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). All of the films were
determined to have n-type electrical conductivity by using hot probe technique. The
resistivity values, which are one of the electrical properties of the films, were measured with
the four-probe technique. As a result of the working, it was concluded that the annealing
temperature and Al doping have enhance effect on the structural, optical, surface and
electrical properties of the films
