In a cooling system design which works in closed loop, aluminum, steel and copper
refrigerant pipes are used to make condenser, evaporator and compressor connections. The
refrigeration cycle is completed by means of refrigerant gas (R600a - R134a etc.) through
these pipes. In order to design products with high energy efficiency, the pipe connections
used in the system design must perform their duties under high sealing and pressure.
In this study, it is aimed to investigate the connection methods of aluminum, copper
and steel pipes which are one of the cooling system elements in home refrigerators, to
optimize the methods used, to examine the effect of pipe diameter, material and connection
shape experimentally. Household refrigerators were preferred as the product group.
As a result of the thesis, it has been determined that double stage special composite
adhesives can be used instead of solder connection by using flame which has high error
rate in the production process and requiring skilled labor. The effect of the connection
shapes of the pipes with the special adhesive used was also examined. Accordingly, it was
determined that the patterns obtained by the knurling process on the pipe provide better
shape connection.
According to the results obtained in the study, it is planned to conduct cooling
performance tests with the refrigerant pipes prepared using the combination of adhesive
and knurling pattern which gives the best result and to make the jointing method that can
be produced in series be produced in series
