In this doctoral thesis, spatial analysis was conducted based on regional data. The
data used in the thesis are the NUTS 3rd Level (provincial) data obtained from Tuik. In
addition to the independent variables that have a share in explaining the Gross Value
Added, the spatial neighborhoods of the provinces have been investigated. In this direction,
4 models were obtained by using CCR and BCC models, which are input-oriented and
output-oriented with Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Super efficiency scores were
obtained with these models and the relative effectiveness of spatial units was interpreted.
Super efficiency scores obtained data from the spatial econometric analysis in the second
stage. Spatial neighborhood relations were examined by creating spatial autoregressive
model (SAR) and spatial error model (SEM) and the neighborhoods were examined with a
total of 8 models. Spatial neighborhoods are also expressed visually by mapping. As a
result, Input-oriented BCC model has been identified as the most suitable model and the
socio-economic policies that need to be followed are indicated. EMS (Efficiency
Measurement System) is used for data envelopment analysis and R programming is used
for spatial econometric analysis and mapping
