Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, güncellenen 5. sınıf Ġngilizce öğretim programına ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerini toplamaktır. Güncellenen program, programın amaçları, içeriği, etkinlikleri, araç gereçleri ve değerlendirme yöntemleri dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Öğretmenler, programın güçlü ve zayıf yönlerini belirtmiş ayrıca programı iyileştirmek için önerilerde bulunmuşlardır. Yöntem: Bu tez nitel bir çalışmadır. Eskişehir ilinde bulunan MEB tarafından belirlenmiş 2 pilot okulda çalışan 3 Ġngilizce öğretmeni ile yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda veriler ortaya çıkmıştır. Toplanan verilerin analizi için olgubilim metodu kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya göre öğretmenler, 2018 programının amacını, içeriğini ve kazanımlarını faydalı bulmaktayken teknik alt yapı eksikliği, velilerin zamanında bilgilendirilmemesi, konuların sıkıştırılması ve hizmet içi eğitimin yetersiz olması gibi sorunları programın aksayan yönleri olarak belirtmişlerdir. Sonuç ve Öneriler: Öğretmenler sonuç olarak; programın gerekliliklerini yerine getirmek için teknolojik donanımların iyileştirilmesini, hizmet içi eğitimin arttırılmasını, kaynakların yeterli düzeye çıkartılmasını ve materyallerin geliştirilmesini önermişlerdir
Purpose: This study investigates teachers’ views on middle school 5th grades
English language teaching curriculum. Objectives, content, activities, materials,
equipment and assessment techniques which are the basic components of the curriculum
are taken into account while criticizing. Beside it, teachers make comment on the
weaknesses and strengths of the program. They also make suggestions to improve the
curriculum.
Method: This research is a sample of qualitative research method. In this
method the data is collected through interviews of 3 English Language teachers which
are working at 2 pilot schools in EskiĢehir. Phenomenological method is applied to
analyze the data.
Results: As a result of the research, teachers state that they appreciate the
curriculum’s main idea and they also emphasize that the new curriculum is satisfactory
by means of acquisition, content and activities but there are still some deficiencies in
curriculum which are stemming from technical infrastructures, parent participation, lack
of in-service training, intense content and so on.
Conclusion and Suggestions: As a conclusion, teachers suggest to have
materials which are published by native authors. They demand in-service trainings,
technical equipment in classrooms and adequate materials
