Plazma günümüzde teknolojinin birçok alanında kullanılmaktadır. Plazma
amaçlanmıs ve metanın suni amorf karbon (Diamond Like Carbon, DLC) yapıya
Plasma has been used lots of area in the technology extensively. Plasma
technologies are effecvtive in various areas such as industry, textile, material science,
electronic etc… In addition to these areas, plasma technology has an important role in
nanotechnology. One of the most important element for nanotechnological application
is carbon. Carbon has lots of suitable properties in order to develop different structures.
It is a covalent bonded element. This property makes it very important. Using these
properties of carbons, one can make new materials via changing its chemical bonds.
Exemplary to this structure; carbonnanotubes can be given.
In order to produce this carbon structure which is extremely important for
nanotechnology, a novel method is the conversion of methane to hydrocarbon using a
plasma technique. In this study, carbon deposition has been purposed and it has been
aimed to make methane conversion to diamond like carbon (DLC) structures at
atmospheric pressure with plasma method. Finally, a new experimental system has been
developed for carbon producing at Plasma Physics Laboratory in Eskisehir Osmangazi
University. At this new system that is improved newly, carbons have been deposited by
using methane gas at plasma atmospheric pressure. Also, carbon deposition has been
realized on various substrates at atmospheric pressure and room temperature. These
substrates are; stainless steel , nano scale zero valent iron-calcite (NZVI-C) and nano
scale zero valent iron-magnesite. Surface microcgraphy of these carbon structures have
been taken by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and an analysis has been
performed.
