Çalışma Eskişehir’in Çukurhisar (müdahale) ve Muttalip
Her iki bölgede bireylere Framingham
The study was
carried out in Eskişehir’s Çukurhisar (intervention) and Muttalip districts (control)
which bear semi-rural characteristics, in the type of semi-experimental intervention
and was planned to provide the public with the required behavioural change
regarding CVD in January 2008-October 2009 as a two-phased study. Various
training materials were prepared for the intervention. The individuals in both areas
were distributed a participation form indicating the risk of having a CVD within 10
years.Other training materials were distributed to the intervention area. The first
phase was performed on 2766 persons. The second phase was performed on 778
persons. At the first phase, the frequency of Framingham Risk score (FRS) above
10% is 22.9% for males and 14.9% for females in control area, 26.2% for males and
18.1% for females in intervention area and no difference was found between male
and female in terms of scoring for control and intervention areas (p>0.05). After the
intervention, it was found that in the intervention area, there was a significant
decrease in smoking, excessive consumption of salt and meat, consumption of
unsuitable vegetables fruit and oil, the number of persons who live sedentary and
total cholesterol level and in the control area, there was a decrease in the
consumption of unsuitable vegetables fruit and an increase in the number of persons
who live sedentary (p<0.05). While there was an increase in the Body-Mass Index,
waist-hip size, triglyceride level, systolic and diastolic blood pressure averages in the
control area, a decrease was observed in these levels except for the diastolic blood
pressure in intervention area (p<0.05). According to FRS, there was a decrease of
15.4% in males and 10.2% in females in the intervention area, and an increase of
8.2% in males and 3.8% in females in the control area at the second phase. It is found
that, teaching individuals who are older than twenty years of age on cardiac health is
an effective method for decreasing the CVD risk factors.
