Bu çalışmada, refrakter özellik gösteren Gümüşhane-Kaletaş / Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi (TÜRKİYE) cevherinden tiyoüre ile altın kazanımında “özütlemede karbon
(CIL)” sürecinin uygulanabilirliği araştırılmıştır. Deneysel çalışmalar, yaklaşık %80 ’i -0,038 mm boyutuna öğütülmüş 6,8 g Au/ton tenörlü cevher örnekleri üzerinde ve laboratuvar ortam sıcaklığı koşullarında gerçekleştirilmiştir.
In this study, the applicability of “carbon in leach (CIL)” process in gold recovery with thiourea from the refractoric Gümüşhane-Kaletaş / Eastern Black Sea Region (TURKEY) ore was investigated. The experiments were conducted at laboratory temperature conditions and with the ore samples of which approximately 80% ground to - 0.038 mm. The tenority of the ore samples were 6.8 g Au/ton.
At the first part of the experimental studies, assuming that the gold will be recovered with carbon in pulp (CIP) and carbon in column (CIC) processes; the effects of pH, thiourea, oxidizing agent consumption and leaching time on leaching efficiency were investigated by using the same methods used in the previous studies.
Then, on the basis of the optimum pH and reactive consumption values obtained in the first part of the study (pH = 1.5 , 15.2 kg thiourea / ton ore, 140.9 kg iron (III) sulphate / ton ore and 46.2 kg sulphuric acid / ton ore consumptions) and adding active carbon at the beginning of experiments 50 kg / ton ore, the gold leaching efficiencies were obtained for the same leaching times. At this part, the applicability of CIL process in gold recovery with thiourea was investigated. As a result of the experiments, although higher gold leaching efficiencies were obtained in CIL process, the increase in efficiency was about maximum 8% and the highest gold leaching efficiency was obtained as 75% at the end of the 5th hour.
At the last step of the experimental studies, after 3 hours roasting of the ore at
550 oC, some CIP and CIL experiments were carried out by using the same chemicals. After 5 hours leaching period of roasted samples at the CIP process, approximately 10% increase was observed in the gold leaching efficiency while no significant change was observed at the CIL process.
