Polimer malzemelerin termodinamik özelliklerini belirlemede basarıyla
kullanılan Ters Gaz Kromatografisi (TGK) yöntemiyle tersiyer amin metakrilatlara
dayalı, suda çözünebilen 2-(dietilamino)etilmetakrilat 2-(dimetilamino)etilmetakrilat
(DEA-DMA) ve 2-(dimetilamino)etilmetakrilat 2-(N-morfolino)etilmetakrilat
(DMA-MEMA) diblok kopolimerler, camsı geçis sıcaklıklarının (Tg) altındaki ve
üstündeki sıcaklıklarda incelenmistir. Tg altındaki sıcaklıklarda; adsorpsiyon
entalpileri, serbest enerjileri, entropileri, yüzey serbest enerjisinin dagılım (dispersif-
London) bilesenleri ve Lewis yüzey asitlik, KA ve bazlık, KD sabitleri belirlenmistir. Tg
Sorpsiyona ait termodinamik
parametreler incelendiginde hidrokarbon grupları arasında farklılıklar gözlenmektedir.
Hesaplanan agırlık kesri aktiflik katsayıları ve Flory-Huggins etkilesim parametreleri
birlikte degerlendirildiginde, kullanılan hidrokarbon gruplarının çözme yeteneklerinin
her iki diblok kopolimer için aromatik>alisiklik>alifatik hidrokarbon grubu sırasında
azaldıgı görülmüstür.
Kullanılan bilesiklerle termodinamik etkilesimleri incelenen ve yüzey özellikleri
belirlenen asidik sulu çözeltilerde hidrofilik-hidrofilik karakterdeki, lineer diblok
kopolimerler için TGK’nın uygun bir yöntem oldugu belirlenmistir.
The IGC method is useful in determining the thermodynamic properties of
polymeric materials. Water soluble diblock copolymers 2-(diethylamino)ethyl
methacrylate) 2-(dimethylamino)ethylmethacrylate (DEA-DMA) and 2-
(dimethylamino)ethylmethacrylate 2-(N-morpholino)ethylmethacrylate (DMAMEMA)
which are based on tertiary amine methacrylates were investigated at the
temperatures below and above their glass transition temperatures (Tg) by Inverse Gas
Chromatography (IGC) method. At the temperatures below the Tg; the adsorption
enthalpies, free energies, entropies, the dispersive (London) components of the surface
free energy and Lewis surface acidity, KA and Lewis basicity, KD were determined. At
the temperatures above the Tg; sorption thermodynamic parameters of some aliphatic,
alicyclic and aromatic hydrocarbons, weight fraction activity coefficients, Flory-
Huggins interaction parameters and solubility parameters for hydrocarbons and
polymers were calculated.
The adsorption enthalpies and free energies obtained by the adsorption of nalkanes
on diblock copolymers increased with increasing number of carbon atoms. The
dispersive components of the surface free energy decreased with increasing
temperature. According to the calculated KA and KD parameters it was found that the
surface of DMA-MEMA diblock copolymer was more basic than the surface of DEADMA
diblock copolymer. In sorption thermodynamic parameters, differences were
observed between hydrocarbon groups. Evaluating the calculated values of the weight
fraction activity coefficients and Flory-Huggins interaction parameters together, the
solving ability of used hydrocarbons for both of the diblock copolymers decreased in
the following sequence: aromatic> alicyclic>aliphatic hydrocarbons.
IGC was determined as a convenient method for characterizing the surface
properties of linear diblock copolymers having hydrophilic-hydrophilic character in
acidic aqueous solutions and investigating their thermodynamic interactions with the
used probes.
