Microscope-Taramalı Elektron Mikroskobu), AFM (Atomic Force Microscope-Atomik
Kuvvet Mikroskobu) ve EDS (Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy-Enerji Dağılımlı
Spektroskopi) ile incelenmistir. CdS filmlerinin tane boyutunu kontrol etmek için iki
yaklasım denenmistir. Đlkinde banyo sıcaklıkları değistirilmistir. Đkincisinde KBB tekniği
modifiye edilmistir.
The unique properties and improved performances of nanometer scale
semiconductor materials vary depending on their size. Therefore, studies on the exchange
of optical, structural and morphological properties of materials depending on the grain size
are extremely important. In this study, CdS, CdO and ZnO semiconductor compounds
commonly used in electronic and optoelectronic applications such as light emitting diodes,
photodedectors, phototransistors, solar cells, gas sensors were produced the size controlled
on glass substrates using chemical bath deposition (CBD) and electrochemical deposition
(ED) techniques, respectively. The optical, structural, and surface morphological properties
and analysis of composition of obtained nanostructured films were investigated by using
UV (Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy), XRD (X-Ray Diffraction), SEM (Scanning Electron
Microscope), AFM(Atomic Force Microscope) and EDS (Energy Dispersive
Spectroscopy), respectively. In order to control the grain size of the CdS films, two
different approaches were tried. First, bath temperatures were varied. Second, CBD
technique was modified. The Argon-ion laser beam was used for the modification.
Analyzes showed that increase of the bath temperature decreased the energy band gaps
while the grain sizes of films increased. For the films produced by the effect of the laser
beam, increasing the power of the laser increased the energy band gaps while decreasing
the grain size of the films. In order to control the grain size of the CdO and ZnO films, a
seed layer was constructed with galvanostatic technique by using various currents and then
a film was produced on this seed layer with potentiostatic technique. The effect of seed
layer on the grain size of the films was investigated. It was concluded from analyzes that
for CdO and ZnO films, using the seed layer and increasing the current to produce the seed
layer caused an increase in the density of the crystals accumulated on substrate and
decrease the grain size of films.
