In order to contribute to the topic of invisible labor, one of the most important matters in feminist debates since 1970s, the subject of the pricing of domestic labour, one of the solution alternatives, is handled in this study.
The aim of this study is to lay emphasis on the importance of the woman’s invisible labour within the economic system and to demonstrate the value of domestic labour as a market. In the first section, it has been mentioned some terms. The alternative approaches regarding with the domestic labour have been referred in the second section. Finally, in the third section, the subject of the pricing of domestic labour, the solution alternative being suggested to make the woman’s invisible labour visible, has been examined.
Mainly, the literature review has been made in this study. The valuation has been done by the minimum wage approach. It has been determined that for the year 2015 the value of the labour in domestic production is equal to %18 of the national income of the same year. The salaried of the domestic work provides the placement of the women’s labour for the reproduction on the national income calculations. The visibility of the women’s labour would act as a lever, which supports the women’s rights claimed, in an undeniable manner.
