Derinlik algılayıcı cihazların kolay temini ve artan hassasiyetinden dolayı, 3B
fiziksel nesnelerin dijital ortama aktarımında hızlı bir artış gözlenmektedir. Nesnenin
Digitization of 3D physical objects has grown immensely due to low cost and the
increased precision of depth sensing devices. To obtain accurate and complete object
model one viewpoint is not sufficient. Therefore it is necessary to identify more than one
viewpoint around the object. While determining these viewpoints, the use of automatic
digitization methods are proposed to minimize the impact of the human factor and speed
up the process. Therefore, the modeling task is transformed into the problem of the
determination of the next best view (NBV).
In this thesis, a 3-D modeling method is developed to minimize the human
intervention. In the proposed method, a partially complete, initial 3-D surface model is
generated using the point cloud obtained from pre-programmed continuous scan paths.
Incomplete regions are detected on the inital model and rescan paths are determined to
complete the model. It is intended to obtain a fine 3-D surface model with the rescans. The
proposed system is implemented with a 6-axis industrial robot arm and laser profile a
sensor.
