Poli[(etilen glikol)metil eter]-b-poli(glisidil metakrilat) (MPEG-b-PGMA) diblok
kopolimeri ve poli[(etilen glikol)metil eter]-b-poli(glisidil metakrilat)-b-poli(metil
metakrilat) (MPEG-b-PGMA-b-PMMA) triblok kopolimeri atom transfer radikal
polimerizasyonu ile başarılı bir şekilde sentezlenmiştir.
Kopolimerler aseton/su çözücü karışımları içerisinde kendiliğinden misel oluşumu
sergilemişlerdir. Diblok kopolimerde PGMA, triblok kopolimerde PGMA-b-PMMA
Poly[(ethylene glycol)methyl ether]-block-poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (MPEG-b-
PGMA) diblock copolymer and poly[(ethylene glycol)methyl ether]-block-poly(glycidyl
methacrylate)-block-poly(methyl methacrylate) (MPEG-b-PGMA-b-PMMA) triblock
copolymer were successfully synthesized via atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP).
Copolymers have demonstrated micellization via self-assembly in acetone/water
solvent mixture. PGMA block of diblock copolymer and PGMA-b-PMMA block of
triblock copolymer which are soluble in acetone, form micelle cores by the addition of
water. On the other hand, MPEG block acted as shell of the micelles thus spherical
micelles were obtained. Cross-linked micelles were than synthesized by cross-linking the
epoxy groups of PGMA block with different cross-linkers; namely hexamethylenediamine
and ethylenediamine. After cross-linking reaction, cross-linked PGMA blocks become
soluble in water with hydroxy and amine functional groups. Furthermore, core cross-linked
micelles were obtained from diblock and triblock copolymers. The cross-linker/GMA
ratios were varied to tune cross-linking degrees and their responses to the solution
conditions were investigated. Swelling /deswelling behaviors of cross-linked micelles were
observed in acetone and ethanol.
Later, CCL micelles with a high degree of cross-linking was used as nanoreactor
for gold nanoparticles synthesis. TEM analysis confirmed successful synthesis of AuNP
nanoparticles with average size of 5 nm. The obtained gold nanoparticle/cross-linked
micelle dispersions have been used as catalysts in the reduction of p-nitrophenol to paminophenol
reaction.
