ligantları kullanılarak on sekiz tane siyanür kompleksi sentezlenmiştir.
{[Cu(hmp)2][Cu(pymet)2Ni(μ-CN)2(CN)2]2·4H2O}n (10), {[Zn3(hmp)2(pymet)4Ni2(μ-
CN)6(CN)2]·2H2O}n (11), [Cd2(H2O)2(pymet)2Ni(μ-CN)4Ni(μ-CN)2(CN)2]n (12),
[M(pymet)2Mʹ(-CN)2(CN)2]n (M = Cu (13, 16) , Zn (14, 17) Mʹ= Pd, Pt),
This study aims to syntheses various cyanide complexes containing two different
metals using 2-pyridineethanol and 2-pyridinemethanol ligands and to investigate the
structural properties of the complexes as first metals. For this purpose, eighteen cyanide
complexes were synthesized by using 2-pyridineethanol and 2-pyridinemethanol neutral
ligands with Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) as first metals and Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(II) as second metals.
The structures of these complexes were investigated by using elemental analysis,
vibrational (FT-IR and Raman) spectroscopy and thermal analysis methods and also
structures of obtained complexes except for 14 and 17 complexes were determined by the
single crystal X-ray diffraction technique.
According to elemental analysis results, the closed formulas of complexes were
defined as [M(pyet)2Mʹ(-CN)2(CN)2]n (M = Cu (1, 4, 7), Zn (2, 5, 8), Cd (3, 6, 9) and
Mʹ(II) = Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(II)), {[Cu(hmp)2][Cu(pymet)2Ni(μ-CN)2(CN)2]2·4H2O}n (10),
{[Zn3(hmp)2(pymet)4Ni2(μ-CN)6(CN)2]·2H2O}n (11), [Cd2(H2O)2(pymet)2Ni(μ-CN)4Ni(μ-
CN)2(CN)2]n (12), [M(pymet)2Mʹ(-CN)2(CN)2]n (M = Cu (13, 16) , Zn (14, 17) Mʹ= Pd,
Pt), {[M(pymet)2Mʹ(-CN)2(CN)2]2}n (M = Cd (15, 18), Mʹ= Pd, Pt). Furthermore, the
significant results were obtained about formation of the complexes through determination
of shifts in the characteristic bands which belonged to cyanide, 2-pyridineethanol and 2-
pyridinemethanol ligands by using FT-IR and Raman spectroscopic methods. In the
complexes, it was found that Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions exhibit distorted octahedral
geometry and Ni(II), Pd(II), Pt(II) ions exhibit distorted square-planar geometry. Among
the complexes whose structures were determined, complex 12 has two dimensional (2D)
structure and the other complexes have one dimensional (1D) structures. In the complexes,
it was understood that the hydrogen bond interactions have a significant effect on structural
stabilities of the complexes. The decomposition stages of each complex were determined
by the thermal analysis method. It was seen that neutral ligands are decomposed partly or
completely as endothermic; whereas cyanide ligand was burnt as exothermic. The final
decomposition products in the complexes were found to be the metal oxides.
