Antalya is among the leading cities in tourism. German and Russian tourists who come to Antalya by years have a share of 25% in total number of tourists in Turkey. Over the years, Antalya tourism has become dependent on tourists coming from these two countries. This situation brings with it country risk. The tension between Russia and Ukraine, the depreciation of the ruble due to the decline in crude oil prices, the decrease in purchasing power of Russian citizens has negatively affected the tourism season of 2015 in Antalya. The political crisis that resulted from the Turkish jets dropping the Russian plane which has breached the Turkey border, caused concern in the hotels and travel agencies in Antalya before the 2016 season. In this study, the relationship between the economic crises and the tourism sector was examined and the importance of the share of Russian tourists in Antalya tourism was emphasized. Also the economic crises in Russia and recent political problems between Turkey and Russia have been examined. As a result, the negative effects of these situations on Antalya where tourism is considerably dependent on Russian tourists, have been examined. In addition, the reflections to tourism of the security worries caused by the increasing terrorist incidents recently in our country have been discussed.
