Elde edilen sonuçlar, Crosbie ve Schrenker’in doğrudan
The Alternative Synthetic Kernel (ASKN) approximation, just as the standart SKN, is derived
from the radiative integral transfer equations in 3D. The direct and diffuse components of
thermal radiation appear explicitly in the radiative integral transfer equations as surface and
volume integrals, respectively. In the standart SKN method, the approximation is employed
to the diffuse components while direct components are evaluated analytically. The
alternative formulation differs from the standart one in that the direct radiation contributions
from the walls are also approximated with the spirit of the snthetic kernel approximation. In
this case, the ASKN method is reducible to the set of coupled second order partial differential
equations. Thus, ASKN equations can be solved using the finite volume method. In this study,
the ASKN method is applied to radiative transfer of absorbing, emitting, and isotropically
scattering regular and irregular two dimensional medium. The result of the study is compared
by the direct numerical solution of Crosbie and Schrenker’s article, the solution of discrete
ordinates (S4 and S12), modified discrete ordinates (S4), Monte Carlo and collocation spectral
methods. It is demostrated that the ASKN approximation possesess the capability of solving
radiative transfer problems yields generally better solutions than the Discrete Ordinates
method and ray-effect free.
